What is the Academy of Managed Care Providers?
The Academy is a national association of clinicians, managed care organization staff and other healthcare industry professionals. Founded in 1993 by practicing clinicians, its mission is to bridge the gap between the provider and the managed care industry. Our goal is to help professionals maintain the ability to provide quality care within a cost-conscious environment.
How does Membership benefit me?
Membership in the Academy offers you the many opportunities and benefits to help you maintain and increase your professional status within the managed healthcare marketplace. Our benefits department pays attention to your individual needs and works to make your membership in the Academy your most valuable professional affiliation.
Diplomate certification help me?
As a Diplomate of the Academy of Managed Care Providers you are among an elite group of healthcare professionals who have met rigorous criteria that shows managed care organizations that you possess the skills, experience and ability to provide quality care within a cost-conscious practice environment. For this reason, you will be a more valuable and sought-after professional by those organizations which are in the position to make referrals, recruit or maintain your membership on their panels and therefore, have an influence upon your professional standing and income potential..
What are the dues?
We are sure that you will find our annual dues to be among the lowest of all professional associations. General Members and Diplomates pay only $125/year for internet-ready membership (receive most of your correspondence via the internet or e-mail) and only $175/year for non-internet ready membership (receive all correspondence via regular mail). Student dues are $35/year (internet-ready only)
What else do I receive?
In addition to the benefits to your practice, you also receive discounts on continuing education, conferences, conventions, books and software, group rates on health insurance, a subscription to Managed Care Times and Academy Alerts (internet ready members only), legislative watch, job and practice opportunity listings, the option of linking from our site to your e-mail or home page and a multitude of other benefits that are growing daily as a result of Member suggestions. Diplomates are entitled to list Diplomate, Academy of Managed Care Providers on business cards and other material.

You have the following options:
- Go to the General Membership Application, or
- Go to the Student Application page, or
- Send a self-addressed, stamped envelop ($0.77 postage at this time) for a membership packet to be mailed to you.
